Frozen Caramel http://www.frozencaramel.com The best frozen caramel blended latte recipe. Tastes just like the Frozen Caramel from Panera Bread. en-us McDonald's Free Mocha Mondays is over Wed, 12 Aug 2009 13:30:34 EST http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601087&sid=acjdo.1xyK3Q McDonald’s July sales gain 4.3% on new angus burger and McCafe espresso drinks. Their media blitz seems to be paying off, but are these new offerings really worth it? For 4 consecutive Monday's in July and August, McDonald's was offering free McCaffe espresso drinks. I only remembered one of the four days. Anyway, it was a big let down. I don't know why I would have had high expectations ordering an espresso from McDonald's, but somehow I did after all of the hype. I guess McDonald's should focus on what it does best... serving greasy, unhealthy food to the masses (which includes me). New Low SALE Price Wed, 29 Jul 2009 23:20:34 EST http://www.frozencaramel.com I gallon of Distant Lands Mediterranean Blend Frozen Cappuccino Mix now just $28.95! I gallon makes (64) 16 oz drinks. That works out to just $0.45 a drink. Even after you factor in the other ingredients ($0.44 for 7 oz. of half and half and $0.25 for 3 tbsps of caramel syrup), the total cost for a 16 oz. drink is just $1.14! A 16 oz. Grande Frozen Caramel from Panera Bread costs $3.59! That's more than 3 times the cost for the same exact drink using the same ingredients! Panera's Secret - Part IV - Finale Wed, 15 Jul 2009 13:48:34 EST http://www.frozencaramel.com Breaking news! Yesterday, I received the "Mediterranean Blend Frozen Cappuccino Mix"! I can now confirm that this IS the exact mix that Panera uses to make their Frozen Caramels and Frozen Mochas (down to the last ingredient)! Now it is so cheap and easy to make these delicious espresso drinks right at home. Better yet, you can order the Frozen Cappuccino Mix right from my website, http://www.frozencaramel.com. Due to this breakthrough, I've moved my original copycat recipe, using fresh brewed espresso, to the "More Recipes" tab of the webiste! It's still delicious, fresh, and more authentic than using the mix that Panera uses. However, it takes more effort, and although the taste is very close, it's not identical to Panera's. McDonald's - Free Mocha Mondays Fri, 10 Jul 2009 22:06:00 EST http://www2.mcdonalds.com/mccafe/index.html?TargetSection=Products Get a free sample of a McCafe iced or hot mocha every Monday at McDonald's from now until August 3rd. Just stop in between 7 am and 7 pm. McDonald's main supplier for their espresso drinks is actually the same supplier that Panera Bread uses, Distant Lands Coffee Roaster. Personally, I think that the McCafe's are not nearly as delicious as the recipes on my site, http://www.frozencaramel.com. But hey... who can beat the price... FREE! Panera's Secret - Part III Fri, 10 Jul 2009 11:21:34 EST http://www.frozencaramel.com Breaking news! I've just ordered a gallon of "Mediterranean Blend Frozen Cappuccino Mix"! I believe this is the exact frozen cappuccino mix that Panera uses to make their frozen caramel drinks. Once I receive it, and test out a batch, I'll post more about it, including how you can order some for yourself right from my website! Personally, eventhough I hope it has the taste I crave, I prefer the freshness of using my own ingredients and grinding my own beans. It's more authentic that way. Stay tuned... Panera's Secret - Part II Fri, 10 Jul 2009 10:21:34 EST http://wholebeancoffee.stores.yahoo.net/escof.html In my previous post entitled "Panera's Secret", I mentioned that I had discovered the mix that Panera uses to make their frozen caramel drinks. The mix isn't available to individual consumers, but the beans used to make the mix are. Well, anyway, yesterday I received the beans, and I must say they smell and taste fantastic! I whipped up a batch of my frozen caramel lattes last night, and it was indeed delicious! I would not go as far as to say that they make or break the recipe though, but they do improve upon it. The beans can be purchased here: http://wholebeancoffee.stores.yahoo.net/escof.html. I would recommend buying some today! New page added for more recipes Wed, 08 Jul 2009 11:21:34 EST http://www.frozencaramel.com/pages/frozencaramel_more_recipes.html I've added a new page to my website which features a very cool graphic that illustrates different types of espresso drinks. The page will also soon include recipes that will not require an espresso machine, since many people do not have one. Check back soon! Panera's Secret Tue, 07 Jul 2009 11:21:34 EST http://www.balihiminis.com/summerroaster.php#cappuccino After some research, I've found the coffee that Panera Bread uses to make their frozen caramel drinks. It turns out that it's just a concentrated mix for frozen cappuccinos! That is a let down, especially since they're charging $3.59 for them! Anyway, the mix is called "Mediterranean Blend Frozen Cappuccino Mix" from a company named Distant Lands Coffee Roaster. The mix is not available to consumers. They sell it only to large accounts such as Panera Bread. However, the Mediterranean Blend espresso coffee beans from Distant Lands are available to individuals in their online store. I've purchased 2 lbs of this and am awaiting delivery. I'm hoping this will make my Panera Bread copycat frozen caramel recipe even better. I will post on this after I receive them and make up my first batch! Stay tuned... Dry Pectin Mon, 06 Jul 2009 11:21:34 EST http://www.frozencaramel.com So last night, I tried to make this same recipe but this time added Sure-Jell No Sugar Needed dried pectin (as recommended by some other recipes for making blended espresso drinks). Anyway, it turned out awful. The taste was completely changed and so bitter! From what I've read, pectin is not supposed to change the flavor, only the consistency. Did I do something wrong? If anyone has any idea, please email me through the contact us link at the bottom of my website http://www.frozencaramel.com. Otherwise, I am still sticking with my recipe as it stands. I don't believe that Panera Bread uses dry pectin in their Frozen Caramel drinks, but I think that Starbucks uses it in their Frappuccinos. Frozen Caramel Recipe Wed, 01 Jul 2009 11:21:34 EST http://www.frozencaramel.com This is the best frozen caramel recipe. Tastes just like the Frozen Caramel from Panera Bread! This blended espresso drink recipe took years to perfect and is sure to leave your taste buds happy!
